Exercise

The A6A Associates team is staffed with Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program trained personnel with experience in exercise planning, design, control, and evaluation.

Our personnel have successfully conducted over 3,000 exercises for federal, state, local, Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters, and private sector clients.

Discussion-based Exercise

A6A employs discussion-based exercises as the starting point of the Building Block Approach and focus on existing plans, policies, and procedures.  These types of exercises are useful for familiarizing staff with current or expected capabilities.  Discussion-based exercises, most often our uniquely-designed table tops,  are led by an expert A6A facilitator who keeps participants actively engaged and driving toward critical objectives.

Discussion-based exercises include:

• Seminars
• Workshops
• Tabletop exercises (TTX)
• Games

Operations-based Exercise

A6A Associates uses operations-based exercises to validate plans, policies, and procedures identified and evaluated during Discussion-Based Exercises.  These types of exercises provide an active, stimulating environment to improve individual and team performance.  A6A designs, controls and evaluates such events carefully to ensure real enhancements are achieved and response capabilities improved.  A hallmark of A6A operations-based exercises is our after-action report.  Not simply a summary of events, our reports provide analysis of areas of strength and weakness and provide expert recommendations on how to improve.

Operations-based exercises include:

• Drills
• Functional Exercise (FE)
• Full-scale Exercise (FSE)
